“Stratus Unplugged is an invaluable tool when I’m out of the office. With clients, I can quickly satisfy their curiosity with listing information about houses we drive by instead of telling them, "I'll look it up back at the office". They are very impressed with the level of service I provide. I get instant property records on FSBO'S and the full color photos of homes are great. Unplugged is easy and simple to use.”

What is Spam?

What Is Spam?
Spam is the common term referring to unsolicited commercial email or junk email. Spam can be very annoying and time consuming. Most spammers are trying to make money by advertising products at almost no cost. Believe it or not, most spammers are very successful at generating revenue and have become very wealthy in a short period of time.

Why is there spam in your email Inbox?
Spammers buy lists of email addresses from brokers. List brokers collect email addresses by scanning the web and extracting email addresses. Your email address can be extracted in a variety of places such as:

Chat rooms: Information like your email address is available for anyone to collect when you visit public chat rooms.

Posting in newsgroups or forums may expose your email address: Spammers use software to automatically search for and record postings for email addresses.

Email addresses posted to web pages receive spam: It does not matter where the addresses are posted on the site. If the address has the @ sign, it will be found.

Responding to spam means you are asking for more: Once you have responded to one spam email, the spammers will add your address to every list. Your address will even be sold to other spammers.

Note: Email Harvesters are spammers who use various methods of obtaining lists of email addresses for use in bulk email or spam. Email Harvesters use the latest technologies and are constantly developing new ways to build their lists and increase revenue.
