What can I do about Pop-up ads?

Marketers have found a new way directly into your home; through your computer. Pop-up ads are flooding the Internet, harassing users while trying to visit web sites. The quick answer to the problem used to be to install a pop-up blocker. Pop-up blockers hide the symptoms by blocking the ads, but ultimately leave the cause of the pop-ups -Spy ware.
Spy ware (also known as Ad Bots), are small programs installed on your computer; often without your consent. The affect of Spy Ware goes from displaying pop-up ads to slowing down your entire pc and making you vulnerable to viruses. Just as homeowner’s can’t fix black mold by painting over it and they can’t fix the serious problem of Spy Ware by covering the symptoms.
Realtor’s have many tools available to help in the removal of spy ware. The two most popular (and easiest to use) are SPYBot S&D and AdAware. These tools will scan your computer for Spy ware and offer options to remove it.
